“I have worked throughout the construction trades since the age of 16. I began working for my brother’s company, Glenn E. Garis, Inc., in 1974 and stayed with that company until it was dissolved in 1999 due to my brother’s illness with cancer. I learned many skills including concreting, framing, trimming, siding and eventually supervision of small and large housing developments, including Banbury Crossing in Montgomery County which is a large development of singles, twins & townhomes. From 1999-2000, I worked with my nephew Pat Garis, supervising the construction of custom homes. In 2000, my brother John asked me to join his company, John Garis Homes, Inc., to work as a construction management supervisor for housing developments. I have handled the developments from ground breaking through pre-settlement walk-through with the customers, coordinating the sub-contractors throughout the process.
Although I have always counted it a privilege to work for my family, I had a dream to form my own company to serve customer’s needs in the areas of additions and remodeling. JG General Contractor, Inc. began as my own venture and has enjoyed a steady increase in business, as well as many customers whom I now consider as friends. I have strong interpersonal skills and love working with the customers to bring their dreams to reality. I take great pride in honesty, quality work and attention to the customer’s needs.
