Eco Brooklyn Inc. is an artistic green contracting and design firm in Brooklyn with one simple focus: to Turn New York Green! We do this by creating natural environments that are healthy and happy.

Led by green builder and artist, Gennaro Brooks-Church, Eco Brooklyn is passionate about blending vintage artistry with cutting-edge technology. The result is a  large portfolio of awe-inspiring living wall systems and many soil remediation projects. We help people develop a close relationship with nature while falling in love with their homes, office spaces or outdoor environment. Our work does not just enhance the aesthetics of living spaces or facilitate environmental sustainability; we improve the quality of life of all living creatures.

Gennaro’s rich background as an artist, educator, and builder provides an excellent recipe for creating living walls that stay beautiful and luster all year round. For him, green wall construction is more than just a profession. It is a way of life inspired by an undying love for nature and an unquenchable thirst to continually employ his creative skills for the betterment of his environment.

Eco Brooklyn is recognized by the National Association of Green Builders, and LEED AP. Like many others on the Eco Brooklyn team, our team has completed training and certification programs in Passive House Consultant, Passive House Tradesperson, Living Wall Installation, and Green Roof Installation. A fastidious adherence to ethics and sustainability is one of the distinguishing qualities of the company. This is outlined in our membership with the Sustainable Business Network, New York City. The company aims to embody the ‘people, planet, and profit’ mantra that are now regarded as the guiding principles of sustainability practices. A biophillic company, Eco Brooklyn sees the home as a living being with inner organs, lungs, a skin, and a body. that is meant to be cared for and loved. We specialize in what we call the “green aesthetic” or Wabi-Sabi design, which incorporates the use of natural materials, like plants, wood and clay, and provides a home that is soothing and invigorating. We have handled many green building building, from Passive House construction, green roofs, natural swimming pools, and countless projects using salvaged non-toxic materials. Our current incarnation is specializing in living walls or green walls for the New York area. We build both indoor and outdoor living walls of various sizes and designs.

We also specialize in soil remediation. We do this mostly for brownstone owners who, like most homes in New York, have high lead levels in their backyards.
