Affordable Roofing, a family-owned roofing company founded in 1995, began by serving their local community with quality roofing services. The owners being very community-minded, joined the two local Chambers of Commerce, volunteering on various committees as well as supporting local schools and other non-profits. Affordable Roofing soon became the go-to roofing company in South County. Within a few years, Affordable Roofing became recognized as a Master Elite roofing contractor with GAF Material Corporation, the largest shingle manufacturer in the United States, representing one of the top 3% of roofing contractors in the Nation. Customer Service has always been a trademark of the company and part of the business growth process. As we listened to our customers we learned about a very common concern, hot attics causing uncomfortable interior heat, even with attic venting. Affordable Roofing began to research appropriate products and discovered what was at that time a new emerging product. This product was a Low-E radiant barrier insulation. We incorporated this radiant barrier into our product line and immediately had raving fans. A few years later radiant barriers became part of California Title 24 requirements. In 2003, the owners’ son graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Environmental Studies and Alternative Energy. He became employed in the solar industry gaining practical experience for several years. His unique experience in both roofing and solar brought value to the Solar industry that was still in infancy stages. He decided to bring his expertise and solar license to the family business and thus, Affordable Roofing & Solar emerged. In 2015, Affordable re-branded the parent corporation to Simmitri, Inc. This was to encompass our broader approach in the clean energy space and other related areas. Simmitri’s (Symmetry) mission is to restore the “balance of power” by empowering our customers to be energy independent and provide them with optimized clean solar power designed and installed the way it should be done. Our Reduce Before you Produce approach to energy management takes the entire home or building energy demands and assesses ways to reduce the demand before installing solar. This”Energy Smart” approach, provides a comprehensive energy analysis, enabling clients to make sound decisions on which improvements yield the greatest rewards.
